Thank you to our Sponsors.

For the past 50 years, the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) has been a vital affiliate organization of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªis committed to fostering the advancement of women in leadership roles within community colleges.

Central to this commitment is the 2024 ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªAnnual Conference, a three-day event rich in content and experience, grounded in the AACC Core Competencies for Community College Leaders. At AAWCC, we uphold the belief that leadership can be exercised from any position, and the 2024 ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªAnnual Conference is instrumental in cultivating leadership skills and attributes in women at all levels of community college education and administration. This year, the 2024 ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªAnnual Conference will be held in Washington, DC, from October 31 to November 2, 2024.

As we approach a significant milestone, the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) is excited to announce the celebration of our 50th anniversary. For half a century, ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªhas been at the forefront of developing and supporting women leaders in community colleges. Our mission, dedicated to championing women's education and leadership, has never been more vital.

This year, as we mark this momentous occasion, we invite you to join us as a valued sponsor. Your participation will play a pivotal role in our ongoing commitment to empowering and inspiring women in community colleges across the nation.

We are deeply grateful for your support in nurturing, inspiring, and championing current and future women leaders in community colleges.

Best wishes,

Suzanne M. Johnson, Ph.D.

President, AAWCC

Membership Benefits

A Vibrant Professional Network

In ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªyour peers are often your most valuable asset.  Who better to understand the experiences within the community college setting than someone who is living it?  As a member, you will have access to a network of women, men and students in community colleges across each of the eight regions of AAWCC.  Each region has a Regional Director (RD) who acts as a point person for that region. The RD can help interested colleges begin a local chapter or answer individual questions a member (or prospective member) may have about the organization. Our members share their expertise freely and offer advice and assistance at chapter and national meetings.  The peer support extended by ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªmembers is unparalleled.

Essential Resources

Not only does ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªprovide a network of professionals who share their knowledge and insights, but we have a number of scholarships and awards that support members in their efforts to address women's issues within their own institutions.  The ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªnational website provides information for members on available scholarships, awards for model programs, opportunities for professional development, as well as activities of our local chapters.

Opportunities

³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªoffers a variety of opportunities for its members.  The LEADERS Institute offers a dynamic experience interacting with today's community college leadership. It provides not only networking with those leaders, but a chance to develop career and personal goals. ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªlocal chapter and national activities, such as our Awards Breakfast and conference panel presentations, provide members with a variety of perspectives on subjects important to women.

An ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªmembership provides the resources needed to help you compete in today's community college. Knowledge of the issues impacting women is essential to help us address them.  ³ÉÈ˼¯ÖÐÓªserves to inform and empower leaders of the present and the future.  It is through these leaders that our community colleges will continue to thrive.
